Most forgotten services!

Power steering service: Be honest, have you ever thought of this on your own? Your power steering fluid gets dirty and accumulates moisture over time. Cleaning out your power steering system means that the dirt and gum will be removed and the power steering parts are protected from corrosion. Because this is very important, we at Total Care Auto inspect your power steering system during our regular service.

Wheel alignment: When your wheels are out of alignment your car pulls to one side, which is annoying. This is not only dangerous but also causes your tyres to wear out really fast. This is another item we inspect during our regular service at Total Care Auto.

Differential service: Are you ever aware that you have a differential? Some cars even have three differentials. They are used to move the power from the engine to the wheels. They do not need to be serviced often but you cannot ignore them.

Cabin Air filter: This filter cleans the air going into the passenger compartment. It filters out dust and pollen but when it gets clogged up they can get smelly. Change your cabin air filter on schedule in order to enjoy clean air.

Timing belt replacements: Most cars, trucks and vans have timing belt. Without going into a lot of details let’s just say that your car will not run without it. If it breaks while you are driving it can cause thousands of dollars worth of engine damage. Check the owner’s Manual; if your vehicle mileage is approaching 60,000 kilometres, call us at Total Care Auto and we will check the service schedule for you.

Transmission service: This is very basic but is often forgotten. I know people who have never had a transmission service. Your transmission needs clean fluid from time to time to keep running efficiently and avoid costly repairs. And it can improve your fuel economy too.

Air conditioning service: Most of us don’t think about the air conditioning until it does not work. Then if you are lucky you just need to add refrigerant and if you’re not, some of the components may have been ruined - ’not cheap’. Regular air conditioning service adds clean fluid which keeps the components lubricated and the system clean.

Brake service: We’re not talking about squeaking or grinding here but we are talking about brake fluid. Over time the brake fluid gets a lot of water into it. Because the water gets compressed differently from the brake fluid, your brakes will not work as well. It may even get dangerous, one minute you have brakes, the next minute you don’t.

Cooling system: Very easy to forget. If we do not change our coolant on schedule it becomes corrosive and literally eats holes into various engine parts and the radiator. New fresh coolant contains lubricant additives which maintain the various components of the cooling system.

Fuel system cleaning: In times of sky high fuel prices, fuel System Service is so important. Fuel gums up bunches of particles as it moves from the fuel tank and through the engine. A fuel system clean will keep clean fuel flowing to the engine. The fuel injectors need to be cleaned from time to time. Maintaining your fuel system services on schedule will really help your fuel economy.
